“ It's located in Milpitas Square , they get pretty decent parking space during non-rush hours. I went there with two friends in the late afternoon Friday night for dinner, Inside the restaurant, it was crowded and full occupied. The restaurant inside is a little bit small, that's the only downside I found. Except that, food tastes super good. Basically, you pick up different ingredients ( different greens vegetables, mushrooms, noodles, seafood, meatballs, sliced beef) based on your preference in a big bowl, then choose your soup and hand it to into the kitchen. They will cook it for you, like 5 minutes wait, it will be delivered to you. ”

“ Wanted to try out another malatang place and YGF is highly rated so I decided to check it out. The store is small with limited seating. There is also outdoor seating as well. You start by getting in the line to pick out your toppings and then pick your broth and pay at the register. Depending on how crowded it is, the line could get long but the workers are efficient so the food comes out pretty fast. I came at around 2pm and I noticed a lot of the toppings were in the process of being refilled, so a lot of it was empty. I also noticed that their meat selection isn't that great. I don't eat beef or lamb and there was only one pork option which was the braised pork belly. It was ok. I don't particularly enjoy fatty meat, so due to personal preference, I wish there was other thinly sliced proteins. The other topping selections was great though, lots of seafoods and fish balls so I was able to get more protein in with those. The sauce bar is also pretty limited. The soup base itself was great, I got the tomato broth and it was light and refreshing. Glad I was able to try this place out. ”

“ Food - 3.5 I had the mushroom broth while my family chose the beef broth. The mushroom broth was just ok and a little too thick (oily) and murky. The beef broth was quite good and tasty if you order mild spicy and like peppercorns taste. I felt the medium spicy level tend to cover up its taste with the stronger heat. I was told that Malatown has better beef broth (lighter clearer base and less peppercorns.. ). So may check that place out next time. Ambiance- 3 this place is tight, small with little wiggle rooms between tables. So it's not as comfortable if you have more than 4people in your group. Service - 5 since you move through a line of fresh ingredients to choose to add to your bowl and then you select the broth of choice (beef broth, tomato, mushroom broth) and pay. The food was ready in 5-10mins. ”

“ Definitely worth the hype! YGF is cafeteria style and you're able to choose how much meat, noodles, and veggies you want! It can be pretty inexpensive if you don't eat too much. It's hard not to try to grab everything when your eye is telling you to! This has been one of my favorite malatang spots in San Jose! I got there around 6 and it was not crowded, but around 6:30-7pm it got insanely crowded. So make sure you join the waitlist early if you plan on eating during their busy times. There are four different broth levels and I got mild spicy. It definitely has a kick but is tolerable. The restaurant is small so you may be close to other parties but isn't anything unbearable. ”

“ food? dry pot (4/5): it was a solid malatang, except it was a bit different than other ygf locations. it was more peanut-y rather than chili-oil based, so i was a little confused originally. but still tasted fine! all the ingredients were pretty fresh and were continually bringing out new ones. vibes? lots of people, especially around 7pm. but there was still seating, and courteous customer service that helped confused patrons get to the ingredient bar and the register. location is also in a good plaza with other asian food. large parking lot, but might be a little hard to find parking because of all the other restaurants. come back? yes, a good meal! ”

“ We came by for lunch on a Sunday and the soup was definitely hitting. Seems like this location has more options in carbs versus the Cupetino location. Big plus that they had packs of guillin noodles as an option as I am a big fan :D. Everything else were standard offerings with some specials like tripe. Both of our bowls came to $55 after taxes. Kinda pricey imo. But aren't they all. The broth was a bit too salty for my liking, and lacking that bone broth taste. Limited service interactions but they are quick getting your food to you. The sauce bar was a bit messy, but was stocked. Very bustling inside with the rows of tables cramped together. Pretty loud as well. The parking lot in that plaza is plenty but there's also manyyyy restaurants there so it's a little chaotic. Overall 4 stars! ”

“ This place was so yummy!! I was in the mood for some noodles without something as heavy as soup with it, and this honestly hit the spot!! I got the Dry Mix and it was soo good. They had such a wide variety of ingredients to choose from + a sauce making station! This is also super good for meals where you don't want to interact with anyone!! ”

“ Pricey but well worth the selection. I love getting the oyster mushrooms here as they are so good and absorb the beef flavor well. I just wish the beef broth had a non spicy option as mild + the hotness of the pot can be overwhelming. Service is decent but ambiance is not great. Very loud and crammed seating. As a promo gong on they are offering $2 coupons per pound of hotpot which is nice. ”

“ I usually go to Yintang in socal and this is pretty much the same thing but different name in norcal! Plenty of options to choose from when it came to ingredients and there were more broth options than I have seen before. I went with the mild beef bone broth and it was perfectly spicy. Service was quick and our food came out pretty fast as well. Will be my new malatang place in norcal! ”
